Herschel Walker, the former University of Georgia football star pressed into politics by former President Donald J. Trump, won Georgia’s Republican Senate primary on Tuesday, cruising past a crowded field. His victory, called by The Associated Press, sets him up to challenge the Democratic nominee, Senator Raphael Warnock, in November.

Warnock should not be a senator to begin with. Kemp is probably toast in his race against Abrams.

It’s a shame really. Kelvin King was a much better choice

Kemp will beat Abrams relatively easy.

Republicans voted for Walker but not Perdue.
It tells me Perdue was not a good candidate.

I was surprised to see that Raffensperger is currently up by over 16 points over Hice with 28% of the vote reported. I know it’s still early but if Raffensperger can pull out a win then that’s the two central figures in the 2020 election returning to office for 2024. Not to mention two Trump endorsements going down to defeat.

I hope this is all because the voters think Kemp is their best shot to beat Abrams and nothing more.

Walker will need to have his A game if he’s going to beat Warnock. Saying things like Trump never said the election was stolen, as he did this morning, is not an indication that he’s ready for the general.

Didn’t she just call Georgia a terrible state in which to live? Kind of hard to shake that one off, or is it just me?

I heard him in a radio interview this morning. All he did was hit very superficial conservative talking points. Of course I would rather have him than Warnock in the senate, but, frankly, I doubt his IQ breaks 3 digits. (I’m not in Georgia.)

That’s what Georgia gets for having open primaries. Open primaries are the dumbest thing imaginable. Why would you ever want the opposing party to have the ability to choose your candidate for you?

Open primary is ridiculous. It’s like letting the opponent choose your team. Abrams ran uopposed so Dems could vote for Kemp and Raffensburger to get at Trump.

Seems they also voted for Raffensperger. Stinks to high heaven. Not a good day for MAGA.
