The left most certainly had this speech written and in the desk just praying for the next school shooting to trot it out. Unfortunately for them, this isn’t really a good time, forcing rural red state democrats already in tough races to take a vote on gun control mere months before an election is a recipe for disaster. My guess is there will be a few token votes, Republicans will easily kill any legislation in Senate with the filibuster, the gun industry will have a few months of record breaking panic buying, then it will be forgotten by August.
