I like the old days when a Brick of .22 was $10.29 cents. I still have a few of them.
I have looked in Rural King probably ten times, every time I go there. Tons of 12ga and 20. Very rarely 16, never .410.
Prices are still inflated though, possibly exceeding the inflated price of gas.
spot on. I’m hoarding my last three boxes of .410 because I can’t find it anywhere. Been looking at buying a .410 shotshell reloader just to be able to get another 2-3 uses out of those shells.
My guess is that they don’t want to shut down the 12 and 20 gauge production lines to retool for .410. I’m ticked I got rid of 500 .410 AA hulls.
I told them to take a flying leap when Wal Mart asked me for my driver’s license
I thought Walmart stopped selling Ammo? Last time i checked, my local walmart was just selling shotgun shells and all other calibers were removed from the shelves. Did they change policy again?
Corporate Walmart is idiotic.
I bought .22 shorts for a less than a penny a round back in 1961. 45 cents for fifty.
Opened an old ammo can not long back and was surprised to find I had two large boxes (500 rd each) of .22 LR. Paid less than $3.00 for them back in the 1980s!

Consequently, you didn’t buy the ammo there. Works for them.
Need to get some .222 for the varmit rifle. Cheapest on Ammo land. .80 cents around. I need to learn to reload.

45 cents in 1961 dollars is about $4.50 today.
In the 1980's, $3 would be about $8 in 2022, still a fantastic bargain!
It must have been an incredible sale. Going out of business??
“Unless you’re looking for .410 shotgun shells. WTH? Did everyone buy a Taurus Judge during the blm riots?”
I’ve yet to understand why .410 is in many/most cases higher the 12 ga.
Thank you. I learned my lesson when buying auction online and not reading the fine print.
Old world deer hunter:
No .30-30 170 grain anywhere cheap. Good thing I stocked up many, many years ago.
I used to buy 550-round bricks of .22LR at our local Walmart for $18 (about 3 cents a round) back when O’butthead entered the scene. The same Walmart quit selling guns and ammo a couple of years ago. I don’t shop there anymore.
Stuff like ammunition in .410 gauge, or .32 magnum are good examples. I recall overhearing a conversation in my LGS between the manager and a guy who needed some .30-30 to go deer hunting. $100 a box, while .30-'06 was $40 a box. Same deal.

Inflation is draining everybody’s discretionary income. When you are spending all your money on soaring gas, utilities, food, rent... When you are paying $100k over list for a new home and $10k over MSRP for a new car...
Who has money for ammo? Of course demand has been crushed, so inventories are up and prices are coming down.
They broke the world. If you still have money in the bank beyond what you will NEED going forward, next year will be a great time to stock up hard on stuff that you want but don’t need while the getting is good and prices haven’t yet popped.
Walmart stopped selling
AR 15 ammo-— Specifically.
.
Go figure.
