Glad to hear that they are trying to make the China sea a "free and open region".

It will be interesting if they ever decide that the US and EU need to also be free and open regions.

The south China sea is an international waterway important for not only China, but also Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam and further afield India and Australia.

The EU cannot claim the Mediterranean nor the north sea as its inter waters and neither can China claim the entire south China sea
