If you study the situation with energy you’ll realize the massive scale at which energy is produced and consumed.

Wind and solar just don’t cut it...yes you can get a lot of solar in say, the Sahara, but there is no water so you can’t live there. You can get a lot of wind in Patagonia, but there’s really no place to grow crops.

Without fossil fuels you have to go nuclear, and in a big way as France did. You can put in electric trains all over the place, but with the way Americans move about all over the country you might build an electric train to a dying city/community.

Going green without mature technology would be the equivalent of shooting all the farmers’ oxen and draft horses right after the tractor was invented but before the factories to make them had been built.

Your oxen and draft horse analogy is spot on.

Liberals don’t have a clue about the amount of inputs to a system to make power. They don’t understand basic load duration curves. They don’t understand energy density of different fuels. They don’t understand the first thing about large scale system. They know absolutely nothing about power generation. They honestly believe they can wish it into being.

Doomsberg has a really informative article in sub stack about diesel and it’s complexity.
Natural gas is used to remove sulphur from the refined product. That is becoming more expensive, too.
