And how long do they keep it?

No one can ever explain how Putin wins this war. By the end of this year Ukraine will have 2 million men under arms. They will both outnumber and, thanks to the west, have better gear than the Russians.

Maybe and maybe not. What’s for sure is that it’s already cost them ten times what they thought it would.
