The beleaguered CEO of Abbott Laboratories penned a mea culpa to consumers Saturday over the controversial nationwide baby formula shortage — and vows to supply “more formula to Americans than we were in January before the recall.”
Robert Ford apologized to America in an opinion piece on the Washington Post website titled: “We’re sorry about the formula shortage. Here’s what we’re doing to fix it.”

The fact that this problem arose from a factory closing shows that the real problem is a monopoly. There should be 20 small plants not one big plant and more companies competing
Obviously if these companies can’t make enough baby formula, the government needs to step in. The recent vote for military flights is a drop in the bucket. They need to vote to make the government produce baby formula. Just like they voted for health care. Some tasks are just too big to leave up to the free market.
Sadly - the above is how a lot of voters think.
I’m doing my best to stay ‘abreast” of the issues.
