University Must Reinstate Professor Who Tweeted About 'Black Privilege'

The University of Central Florida must reinstate a longtime tenured professor who was fired after comments he made on Twitter were roundly condemned as racist following the murder of George Floyd, an arbitrator has ruled.

The university had said in June 2020 that it was investigating Negy’s comments on Twitter

“If Afr. Americans as a group, had the same behavioral profile as Asian Americans (on average, performing the best academically, having the highest income, committing the lowest crime, etc.), would we still be proclaiming ‘systematic racism’ exists?” he wrote.

In another comment on Twitter, he wrote, “Black privilege is real: Besides affirm. action, special scholarships and other set asides, being shielded from legitimate criticism is a privilege. But as a group, they’re missing out on much needed feedback.”

He needs to take his back pay and invest it (though not in stocks right now until stocks quit dropping) and retire and collect his pension before the "university" finds another reason to fire him.

What did he say that wasn’t true? I know truth hurts liberal’s feelings, but I don’t think you can fire a tenured professor for it. Now, if he had lied, that might be different.

DeSantis needs to fire the Administrators responsible for this. The university, by its illegal conduct has opened the state to immense legal liability.

In general, multigenerational successful liberals and conservative families have the same behavior patterns within the family. The biggest difference is that conservatives tell others how to do it, and liberals do not. Liberals either say nothing when they see people struggling, or they spew garbage that they themselves wouldn’t do.
