McCarthy: Biden ‘Did Nothing’ and Downplayed Using Defense Production Act on Formula Until People Complained
Breitbart ^ | 05/19/2022 | Ian hatchett

Posted on 05/19/2022 6:39:48 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) stated that the Biden administration failed to act on the national baby formula shortage and downplayed the impact that invoking the Defense Production Act would have on fixing the formula shortage until “people rose to the occasion” and started speaking out about the issue and that President Joe Biden consistently ignores big issues.

McCarthy said, “We’ve watched what they’re doing that they knew about a baby formula shortage, all the way to last year. But the FDA continued to hold it up. They did nothing until people rose to the occasion.”

Government should not be in the baby formula business. Just let business people do their jobs.

I agree they should let people do their jobs. But they shouldn’t ship baby formula down to the Mexican border. And once again Kevin McCarthy is three days late. He never has a solution and he’s always the last one to speak up. I know I could do a better job than Kevin McCarthy is doing on my coffee break. No shit really

If McCarthy had any balls he’d sponsor Articles of Impeachment.

But he doesn’t.

So he won’t.

Note the date. The Abbot factory in Sturges, MI was found NOT to be the source of bacterial contamination. The company and the FDA both confirmed this. It is still closed.

We cannot import European formula because it does not reach FDA acceptance criteria even though there is debate about the nutrient levels needed for infants. EU vs. FDA requirements.

Face it, the government hates us, they hate our unborn, they hate our babies and they groom our children into cutting off their gonads. Could the message be any clearer?

I didn’t feel comfortable when Trump implemented the DPA for ventilators (though everybody thought at the time it was important for saving lives, it was totally irrelevant to National Defense).

I ABSOLUTELY don’t feel comfortable with the Imposter in Chief. Creepy Joe, implementing the DPA for this. It is a humanitarian disaster, but it is NOT an issue of war (national defense).

These powers were granted to the President to direct the country’s economy during WARTIME. These powers were not granted to the President to cover for his screwups.

The DPA is an extremely powerful tool for the president to effectively become the CEO of the entire economy of the country. If you’ve never read it before, I suggest you scan through some of the provisions of it to see what I’m saying.

Here is the “long title” of the bill (in of itself, it should send shivers down your conservative spine):

“AN ACT To establish a system of priorities and allocations for materials and facilities, authorize the requisitioning thereof, provide financial assistance for expansion of productive capacity and supply, provide for price and wage stabilization, provide for the settlement of. labor disputes, strengthen controls over credit, and by these measures facilitate the production of goods and services necessary for the national security, and for other purposes”

You can download a PDF of the law from Legisworks here: https://govtrackus.s3.amazonaws.com/legislink/pdf/stat/64/STATUTE-64-Pg798b.pdf

During wartime I can see the President having this power. But NEVER during peacetime.

Commercially-made formula is important for some babies with unusual medical conditions. For everyone else, the vast majority of babies, it is moronically easy for parents to make their own. Big Pharma, the medical profession and government control freaks want you to believe that most babies will not thrive without store—bought formula. This is unbelievably silly, contrary to millennia of human history and underscores how wussy America has become.

Why bother taking over the House and Senate if we will be led by Frank Luntz’s Housenate and The Turtle?

You actually have confidence in the US Fraud and Deception Association after the years of lies we've been told for the past couple of years?

FDA approval doesn't really guarantee much. All it does is guarantee that the company has either lined the pockets of the approver or has promised the approver a nice, easy fatcat job after he starts to collect his government pension.

But please keep thinking that way. I don't want the rest of the world's parents to have to suffer through rampant price increases and shortages to cover for the Dementia Patient in Chief's incompetence.

That’s a plus 1 on the DPA sentiment.

Would be great if that applied to oil/fuel.

So, Kevin wants to make baby food production and distribution part of the Military Industrial Complex.

More money in his and his co-conspirators pockets that way.

As all career Democrats, his position “evolved” as the public demand for change grew. This is the difference between leadership for the benefit of the country and preservation of political power.
