Apparently the phrase “easily smoking” means “struggling to get to 50% in November and avoid a runoff”, just like what happened to Perdue in November of 2020. Winning with 49% in November is useless — the runoff might look a LOT like what happened to Perdue (and Loeffler) in January of 2021 so it is important to avoid that outcome.
Anyone who spitefully thinks that Abrams should be allowed to be Governor instead of Kemp is a complete idiot, but just because Perdue has decided to forfeit his campaign against Kemp doesn’t suddenly mean Kemp is a fantastic candidate and will AUTOMATICALLY win re-election in November.
If there’s a lack of liberal slime being thrown at Kemp for the moment, it’s just because Democrats (especially those who will vote in the Republican primary) want to ensure that he and not Perdue is their opponent in November.
The Democrats have not even begun to try to destroy Kemp yet.
He isn’t going to get 50%.
I guess we’ll see in five days.
I agree and most George Republicans think he is a solid conservative .
Kemp has always been second amendment. He made a crazy ad, I can’t remember it now, but Kemp got a lot of criticism about the ad.
I have 2 adult children in Georgia, very politically involved. Don’t think they’ll vote for Kemp in general election. However, in the booth, they probably will when they see the name of Stacey on the ballot.
Georgia of 2022 isn’t the Georgia of even 10 years ago. The Atlanta metro has more than half of the population of the entire State.
Reality is far different than internet echo chambers.
The Democrats have not even begun to try to destroy Kemp yet.
No?
Democrats have been trying to destroy Kemp nonstop for 4 years. Not sure what planet you are living on.
Kemp’s Second amendment ad from 2018. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoE61o6Dvik
I hope you are right.
Fraud vitiates all.
Trump supporters will not vote for Kemp. Thats just the way it is. Get used to it!! Only way out is if Trump endorsed Kemp after the Primary.
Nope.
Not even close.
Population of Georgia is over 10 million.
Population of Atlanta is under 500,000.
And Atlanta is only 50% black.
Of which state? Georgia has mountains!
Trump knows Kemp is a crook. He sold the U.S. Senate Seat to Loeffler. He sold us out to Dominion Voting. He sold the State out on the Drop boxes. He sold Trump out on the Election Fraud!! 4 strikes, you got to be out I don’t give a damn what you did about the China virus!!
Atlanta Metro includes the suburbs/satellite cities (like Sandy Springs, Marietta, etc) so that’s 4.6 million people.
Well Trump endorsed Perdue and voters are making their own decision. Only an idiot would refuse to vote because somebody told them not to vote.
That’s like trying to add Staten Island and Long Island population to New York City population.
Only thing is Staten Island and Long Island usually vote red, the opposite of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx etc.
Atlanta metro. Not Atlanta proper.

The Atlanta Metro has 6,144,050 people.
Georgia as a whole has 10,711,908
More than half the population of Georgia lives in the 28 county Atlanta metro.
It isn’t the same Georgia as only a decade ago. It’s why Georgia is well to the left of Florida now, which was never the case in years past.
People don’t like to accept changing electorates but they are real.
That doesn’t mean that Georgia is a permanent Blue State, but it certainly is a purplish State now and that means not nominating Crazy people for Statewide office.
I think a Kemp-Walker ticket balances nicely and will do well in November, despite the wishes of the trailer trash crowd.
