Ukraine Is in Worse Shape than You Think
TIME ^ | 5/14/22 | Suriya Jayanti

Unfortunately, Zelensky’s leadership and the outpouring of international military and humanitarian assistance it has elicited have not prevented a shocking level of destruction to Ukraine’s cities, economy, and society. The fact that Kyiv has not fallen and Russian troops have retreated to the east masks that Ukraine is in worse shape than portrayed in the media.

Russia now controls significantly more Ukrainian territory than before February 24. Putin’s army holds Kherson, whatever is left of Mariupol, all the intervening territory, and now not only Luhansk and Donetsk but the entire Donbas Oblast. For example, whereas Ukrainian authorities controlled approximately 60% of Luhansk before the recent Russian invasion, now Russian forces control over 80% of the region. They also have about 70% of Zaporizhye region. Cumulatively, this accounts for an increase of Russian occupied territory from approximately 7%, including Crimea, before February more than double that now. Viewed this way, not losing looks a lot more like losing than winning.

Golly gee whillickers, Time.

And now you tell us WE have the wrong impression?!

You mean hosting a proxy war between 2 superpowers in your country isn’t a healthy thing to do? I’m shocked.

FINALLY, what looks to be a fairly honest assessment. All I know is that so many of the “reports”, have been nothing but propaganda.

Depends on whether or not one is a recipient of the $40 billion provided by the US taxpayer.

Suyira Jayanti, your source, helped impeach President Trump.

An Indian-American diplomat posted in Ukraine may also have overheard and later been briefed by U.S. Ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, of his call with Trump. The diplomat, identified by the Associated Press as Suriya Jayanti, was reportedly at the same table in the restaurant the when Sondland called Trump on July 26.

Here's what I think is likely going to happen. Russia will keep the Donbas and Crimea and then there will be a negotiated peace. To end the sanctions, Russia will be on the hook for a symbolic, paltry bill of reparations that will be passed off to gullible Americans and Western Europeans as justice. And then we'll inject hundreds of billions into Western Ukraine, rebuilding infrastructure and their military. Many Americans in the ruling class will get even richer from the graft and kickbacks that juicy government contracts provide. Kiev will be the nicest city in Europe, thanks to American taxpayers.

Most everyone wins except for Russia's leaders who now have the largest, most well-equipped army in Europe at their border and the American taxpayer who funded all of it.

A negotiated peace is the only way out

Funny how that is ignored.

Too funny! You habitually screech about Western media being pure propaganda, and not to be believed; yet you post a story by TIME, and shout to the heavens, “I believe!”

Its been clear since day one - Neocons and the DC deep-state will sacrifice every single Ukrainian for their empire-building enterprise.
