High gas prices will crush the economy—for everyone—because everything has oil prices embedded in it.

Regional differences are real for price at the pump—but trucks drive in both high cost and lower cost states.

“will crush the economy—for everyone”

Well that is GREAT! We will all be equal. Equally miserable.

“High gas prices will crush the economy—for everyone—because everything has oil prices embedded in it.”

Decades in the 1970’s when we went to odd and even gas buying depending on your license plate number.

A guy finishing up his MBA wanted to do his thesis on how gas prices set in the Middle East:

1. Devastated our American economy and plunged us into recessions.

2. Which reduced stock prices across our markets.

3. At that time the oil shieks often bought a lot of depressed American and world wide stocks at bargain prices.

4. Then, they lowered prices and increased their supply to us, on their oil. Then, our financial markets recovered. Which increased their stock value and often reaped some good dividends.

His professors said they would not accept his thesis if it was centered on 1-4 above.
