What my administration is doing to me—and, by extension what it is doing to my students, to my academic colleagues in every Concordia university and beyond—is being visited upon me contrary to the written procedures available to them, without reason, and without appeal to any legitimate authority, but purely on the basis of administrative power. They are doing it because they can.
They are doing it because they can. No one says NO.
Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose. We don’t have much left to lose anymore, that makes us dangerous to them.
Rev Schulz:
Free Speech Is Tied to Free Consciences
The first level of academic freedom, insulation from political institutions, has everything to do with what we are as a religious institution. The exercise of our institutional academic freedom, a moral imperative, intersects with the exercise of our constitutional right of free exercise of religion, a legal right articulated in an authoritative American text, the First Amendment.
+++++++++++
The entire 1stA guarantees each US citizen “freedom of conscience.”
Pastor Schulz’s rights to Free Speech, Free Practice of Religion and Free Press have been NULLIFIED by CUW-Mequon.
Note that he \wrote\ an opinion.
Further more, CUW-Mequon is also violating THE call to Rev. Schulz.
The doctrine of the call, in this case, weighs heavily on all concerned.
According to the orthodox Lutheran doctrine (Book of Concord-1580), CUW-Mequon is NOT Rev. Schulz’s >employer<.
The call is for life and can only be altered or ended by God’s own action on the heart and conscience of the man who is called.
Full stop.
Read that again.
And, thus we come around -full circle- to the 1stA and “free conscience”.
