I work with a lady who is gay (she binds her chest and is married to a chick). I can’t help my raising - but I instinctively reply “ma’am” to her when we speak. I don’t know if I’m committing a faux pas or not.
Gay and Trans are two different things and they are frequently at odds with each other. For example, men who say they are women think lesbians should have sex with them but lesbians push back because the trans have a penis so the Transpeople accuse them of Transphobia.
