It’s about time that Americans had some skin in the game regarding Ukraine.

Haven’t read the article but I remember a few years ago reading an article that stated oil refineries in the US are 35+ years ago and are in disrepair. Gov regulations won’t allow for improvements

In short, the pandemic messed up a normal profit cycle and many older refineries shut down. But the people who funded the created virus, Fauci, still go free and unaccountable.

Wut???

Why should Americans have any skin in the game with Ukraine?

A criminal government in Ukraine aligned with George Soros, Klaus Schwab, Jao Bai-din, Hunter Biden, Paul Pelosi, John Kerry Jr., Christopher Heinz (Kerry), and Alex Vindman. Included in that group are those who conspired to interfere with our government and impeach a dutifully elected President Trump. Add in Hollywood, the epicenter of hatred for the "deplorables" of this country, hosting Zelensky at their awards ceremony.

That list of names is all anyone needs to be suspicious of anything supporting Ukraine.

Agree, but until Americans feel some pain, the media will make us think that this is just your typical American imperialistic aggression where there are no consequences at home. After all, even the cost of these ‘adventures’ is free, as we just borrow the money and dump the repayments on our grandkids.

Maybe we can put up some more wind turbines...

The problem of refining capacity has been lurking on the horizon for quite a long time. EPA restrictions have a constrictive effect on the construction of new refineries.

The rapid increase of the population due to immigration and constrictive EPA regulations on the construction of new refineries has placed a strain on fuel production and it will take years to rectify, providing the issues is addressed starting last decade. The foundations of our infrastructure are being crumbled by immigration and climate change zealots.

Three other things:

1. Shale oil is light and does not yield good amounts of diesel

2. Ships have been mandated to use diesel instead of heavy fuel oil

3. Using more ethanol as xiden has mandated results in less gasoline demand and less overall refining throughput. Diesel is the byporduct of gasoline refining in the 3-2-1 typical cracking spread. If you instead refine for diesel you get a flood of gasoline.

Chalk this terrible mess up to environmentalism.

Even ten years ago I was saying that the globull warming crowd was going to do greater damage to the planetary economy than would occur even if the planet were to warm up.

—” EPA restrictions have a constrictive effect on the construction of new refineries.”

And not by accident, clearly with intent.

This article is a few years old, one new refinery went online in 2019, Texas, IIRC.
https://canaryusa.com/stresses-of-middle-age-for-todays-refineries/

EPA restrictions have a constrictive effect on the construction of new refineries.”

Consider this: Most US refineries are between 50 and 120 years old, with the average age right about 40. Even the “newest” US refinery with capacity to produce more than 100,000 barrels per day dates to 1977. Although oil refinery productivity in the US has been improving, the number of operating refineries has been dropping steadily.

I seem to recall that the US hasn’t built NEW capacity in over 20 years. You can only provide maintenance so long and expand so much WITHOUT adding new capacity. We are well past that point.

Look at California, no new water reservoir capacity in 30+ years, millions of additional illegals and NOW they say they are running out of water. Liberal Dumbass Logic on display.

Excerpt from my post in “Attack on Europe” article.

**Russian oil production:
25% lower production this fall means higher prices for Russian oil, which in turn, means high revenues.
Production price of oil in Russia is $10-20bbl. So Russian $30 discount is still a huge profit.

Oil Production:
Embargoing Russian oil is counter-productive: increased price, same demand, means higher consumer prices. Only correct solution is to increase oil production thereby lowering the price.
Current US-led embargo will help destroy economies of the developed world
Increased NG and oil production can only come from US & Canada whose current policies limit oil production. Unless those policies change, prices will continue to go up, creating a recession, potentially even a depression.
(Currently the US has only a 30 day supply of diesel.)

Interest Rates:
Decision seems to have been made to destroy demand in the West. And that is going to happen by increasing interest rates - Fed Reserve followed by other banks. Will create popular backlash over the war, without any understanding that its the US & Canada bad policy

Food Production:
NG is main source for producing nitrogen fertilizer which is the best way to increase yields.
Increase in price or a production decrease will mean yields will go down. Population increases since the “green” revolution of the 60s can no longer be sustained.

Russia is largest producer of cheap NH3 and has cornered the market. Without that supply, farm production will drop.

(Edit: See US WH mandated halt to all railroad shipments of gran and fertilizer products and related in the US.)

(Edit: Also Ukraine is the only supplier of neon gas, other than China. Without neon gas, laser etching of chips does not happen. Semiconductor fabs will either get the gas from China or shut.)

Major Point:
This is not ‘just a regional war’. Everybody, all over the world, will be effected negatively by this war.

(Edit: And that’s why this war is worth spending to halt. FReepers need to take into consideration that whatever aid is given, goes to keep them eating and their dollar worth something. Among many other things everyone stands to lose, absent US aid.)

And biodiesel is terrible for diesel engines - messing them up good.

They simply don’t care about the economic damage. Fact is, they don’t care about anything but their ideology. If you understand anything else it is you that are mistaken.

Everything made sense until the last line. This is a war you cannot win with small arms and no air power. Ukraine is on its third mobilization. Look at the mountains of Ukrainian bodies posted daily on Telegram: You can see it's now just old men pulled out of villages and sent to die in artillery strikes. The Ukrainians running this sh*tshow are safe in Lviv, Kiev and Kharkov and are pictured below. The longer this quixotic stupidity drags on the more you starve and the colder you'll be this fall and winter. And the risk to the collapse of the Petrodollar is real that means an apocalypse and toppling of the USA from the world stage forever. Think twice before sending $40 billion to arm this human filth. Better to send it on mothers with children here. Slava Ukraine!:

So you have some images that you believe represent the Truth as you see it, and they have nothing to do with Russia’s major propaganda line they have been pushing since 2014.

Therefore, let the Ukrainians swing, no matter the cost to the rest of the world, no matter if it greatly contributes to mass starvation, collapse of Western civilization - it just not worth spending the money, because you are so comfortable in this moment of your quest for suicidal decadence. Right?
