It’s not bad advice generally. I would also add to not “fall in love” with political pundits that write intentionally inflammatory articles for money.

LOL. Translation: “Don’t vote for conservatives. The Uniparty needs your support to keep the country running like it is.”

We don’t have the luxury at this point of being able to vote with our hearts.
That's the exact opposite of reality. Voting for "electable" leftists is precisely how we got where we are right now.

I think Barnette would be another Christine O’Donnell, the 2010 DE Republican Senate candidate. Castle, the Republican that she defeated in the primary, was a Susan Collins type of Republican, which is as good as can be expected in DE. She had never held elective office and was easily portrayed as kooky. She was crushed by Coons in the general, in what was a big year for Republicans generally.

True.
There was a time where gridlock was considered good. However, the state of the nation is at a point where bad laws/regulations need to be rolled back/obliterated which includes SS and a lot of the Great Society programs that “moderate” Repubs "who can win" hardly want to touch. The programs by default are insolvent from a fiscal long-term impact but no one thinks long-term because there are elections to win.
Hence the middle-class has a huge target on their backs by both Democrats and "fiscally" sound mainstream Republicans who like to spend other people's money as well on their pet projects while protecting or "reforming" legislation that is fundamentally flawed.

When it's lesser of two evils, Independents figure, "why not vote for the Democrat? They're the same thing anyway."
Lesser of two evils are in on the scam, hence they don't attack their opponents like President Trump did so well.

Everything Schlichter says is correct under the traditional elections system. Make sure your team has the majority, first, then focus on weeding out those people who don't support the platform. Politics was always a team sport, and good team leaders like Reagan excelled at it.
Today - even setting aside the massive evidence of fraud - we have created a system where only those in thrall to powerful financial interests have any real chance of winning. Look at what the Senate is today, after the 17th Amendment has worked its evil magic - one hundred mini national elections, with money and influence from corporations, other states, and even other countries decisive in choosing who the "state" representatives to DC will be.
Idealists do not run for office - or if they do, they rarely get very far. The narcissistic sociopath with loyalty only to his own ego and his paymasters - that's who gets the furthest. The media demands of public service have become so repugnant to normal citizens that most simply shun it. When a Kathy Barnette appears, we want to think "A-ha! Finally - one of us!"...but they never are.
Schlichter is wrong about conservatives in one way - we don't fall in love with politicians, we have already fallen in love with a romantic ideal we learned in school, long ago, about what the American system is supposed to be. That's why so many of us fall for conniving RINOs who know how to speak the language we want to hear. That's why so many of us fall for foreign adventures that are sold to us as Great Patriotic Campaigns but do actual harm to our country and benefit only the Deep State. That's why so many of us fall for the Beltway's promises that they are the solution to America's ills, rather than the source of them.

“...I no longer have confidence in elections....”
Yes. I know what you mean. When Hannity and Trump come out screaming that Barnette can not win in the general election it makes me think that they are telling us that that someone can only win if they are part of the “club”. The club, in this case, are the invisible back-benchers, who run the world.
The 2020 election has shown us that “consent of the governed” is a lie. We American citizens do not determine our leaders. Government officials “pretend” they are elected. In truth, the are “selected” by an odious cast of characters (Soros, Rothchilds, Bilderbergs, Freemasons, Knights Templers, Outer space Aliens) who the hell knows. But it sure ain’t us!

You didn’t address why one should vote for a candidate that is destined to loose when there are other winning candidates available.
Second, you’re assuming the independents won’t be put off by a kook or an extremist republican.

Pennsylvania Senate Candidate Kathy Barnette appeared on Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bream to answer questions about her prior positions, statements and current candidacy. Barnette has climbed in the polls and is in a tight race for the PA senate seat.
There has been an onslaught of criticism and critique in opposition to Kathy Barnette. Many political followers are concerned she might win the primary but then get crushed in the general election due to inflammatory statements in her past. This interview was a great opportunity for her to calm the nerves of republican primary voters and instill confidence. Unfortunately, Barnette did not do well in this interview.
WATCH:
Shannon Bream was fair and gave Barnette plenty of time to explain her positions. Pennsylvania voters will need to make their own decisions. Trust your instincts; if you sense sketchy, it is likely because sketchy exists.

You didn’t address why one should vote for a candidate that is destined to loose when there are other winning candidates available. They're not destined to lose and refusing to vote for RINOs forces the Republican Party to back better candidates. A perfect example is Liz Cheney. The good people of the Wyoming Republican Party threw her out yet the RINOs back her. She's gotta go.

Liz Cheney’s not a good example. She’s in the deepest red state in the entire country. That’s a very bad example.
