Turks vs Nazis.
Istanbul was Constantinople
Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night
Every gal in Constantinople
Lives in Istanbul, not Constantinople
So if you've a date in Constantinople
She'll be waiting in Istanbul
Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can't say
People just liked it better that way
So, take me back to Constantinople
No, you can't go back to Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works?
That's nobody's business but the Turks

Turkey has sold Russia the Baktyir drones as well as Ukraine, and refused to sell Ukraine the S-400s Russia sold to them.

Turkey is just jockeying for something in return — more advanced weaponry from the US.

Setting themselves up as the gateway for the West to approach the unified Eurasian landmass of Russia and China. Smart.

The sick man of Europe should not be in NATO. NATO has outlived its usefulness. NATO is nothing more than American troops protecting Europe. Bring the troops home. Let Europe pay for its own defense and fend for itself.

It may as well. It has closer ties to Russia than to Europe or the US. We have two AF bases still there, but only as part of the Southern NATO element. The largest, Incirlik, is pretty much hamstrung by the Turkish authorities. We also have a small Army/NATO radar site. That’s it. I think we may be pulling out of Turkey within the next ten years.
It has always been the “problem child” of NATO, and it outlived its usefulness in the 1970s.

Turkey will end up setting themselves out of the game. Turkey is too unreliable, and the rest of NATO know that.

As opposed to the NAZIS they teamed up with in WWII?

Apparently the Turks were good fighters in the Korean War and during the Cold War they were strategically useful. They have been occupying one third of Cyprus for 48 years and it doesn’t look like they will ever leave. During the Iraq War of 2003 they wouldn’t let the US invade Iraq from the North. So not very useful as allies during the last 69 years.

Turkey does not like certain Kurdish people or entities.
