That study is very old and in fact does infer that masks work somewhat (+\- 3%). The most recent study on masking showed that a good quality mask worn properly did provide varying levels of protection ranging from 15 minutes (close proximity to an unmasked infected person) to up to over an hour (both parties masked). One of the big problems with both masks and vaccines is that it encourages people to go into risky situations without taking additional precautions. This is not a huge deal for most people but for those who have medical issues or co-morbidities that can be exacerbated by COVID, they should really exercise additional caution or risk mitigation that is reasonable for their situation.

Wonder how many of the arrows on the floor at Big Box Stores saved people from the plague..

A plague so brutal that one had to test to see if they had it and then so brutal some who got it were well, aka asymptomatic

Yes, a “good quality mask” is not the cloth and disposable ones that diaper faced morons generally wear. N95 also need to be changed frequently and fit properly. And if you are a healthy person (ie. Not immunocompromised) you shouldn’t be doing a damn thing but accepting this as the flu. In other words, face diapers (disposable and cloth) are for morons.
