Whatever choice he would have made, the media would have attacked him. They attacked him for suspending his campaign. Had he been a Democrat, they would have praised him for returning to D.C.
I agree and that is one of the “ironies” of his campaign: That a guy that the press loved while he was being a “maverick” in his own party would suddenly be turned upon by the same press when he ran for President.
