Manchin would be a very formidable candidate in a *general* presidential election. But he’d have to get past the Dem primary first. So... forget it. The activist-Dem lefty base hates the guy, and they have other options more to their liking (Liz Warren, Gavin Newsom et al.)
And he will be just as horrible a choice then as he is now.
