Reports are surfacing of military equipment of the United States and other NATO countries on the Russia-Finland border. U.S. and NATO armored vehicles were spotted on the border, along with Finnish tanks and armored personnel vehicles, according to a translation of a Shraibikus News report. There have been reports of military exercises in Finland, but Russian intelligence reportedly suspects the military buildup will remain until Finland joins NATO. The report also indicates Finnish authorities are anticipating Finland joining NATO within a few months. Russian analysts consider the military presence on the Russia-Finland border to be a threat, particularly as NATO allies are supplying lethal aid to Ukraine amid the Russian invasion. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told RIANovosti that Russia is watching the situation and will consider a potential response. "It is clear that from the point of view of security we will not remain indifferent," Grushko said. "Our military will consider all the necessary measures that may be required to ensure the legitimate interests of defense." While the forces conducting the exercises are likely doing so to defend Finland against an invasion by Russia, Grushko added it represents a dangerous escalation that makes neither Finland nor NATO more safe. "This will not strengthen the security of either Finland or NATO itself," Grushko told RIA Novosti.

Yeah, most of them airheads rest on the laurels of their degrees.
I actually worked for a living - I'm the one they call when their physical plant breaks.
This is yet another messaging fail for Russia.
Has it not penetrated the thick heads in the troll farms that this does not help the Russian image?
You guys just have to stop digging this hole. Everyone now sees Russia as public enemy #1
You don’t TRY to be public enemy #1 unless you are extremely desperate, or you are psychotic.
This is a formula for eternal enmity. It just is. Who is going to let down their guard and deal with Russia as a “normal” nation, after all the nuke saber-rattling?
Look at the Chief Grinning Fool-ette in Germany - Bündnis 90/Die Grünen Annalena Baerbock.
“There is a whole lot more going on than is published, broadcast, or circulated.”
One of the more astute posts in this entire topic. Kudos.
Putin always knew, right down to the bottom of his soul, that NATO was never going to invade Russia. He and the rest of the world could see NATO's defense budgets consistently shrinking over time, and that the major European players in NATO had absolutely no appetite for military adventures. And apart from all that, Putin knew that Russia's nuclear arsenal was the final deterrent to anyone actually seeking to invade Russia itself.
Putin never feared NATO militarily. What he did fear was that Russia's neighbors could no longer be bullied or intimidated by Russia, and would be free to pursue their own economic and political interests. He believed Russia had the right to hegemony in Eastern Europe. And...it doesn't.
And I’m the guy who used to put in that physical plant - and all its necessary connections to DAQ and control systems. And those control systems. It is the 21st century and all. And its maintenance and upgrades and performance monitoring and all the BS with upper management, and... You have no idea.
You worried about a machine? I spent decades worried about thousands. Dealing with a way, way bigger picture for the last 40 years.
“He believed Russia had the right to hegemony in Eastern Europe. And...it doesn’t”
Indeed they don’t.
L
Grinning fools EXIST. And they vote. Welcome to reality, where you cannot assume some system of extermination such that they will not bother us anymore. THAT is just as much a fantasy as the greens.
Or your enemies got such an erotic charge out of stomping the Canadian truckers with their digital jackboot that they thought they'd get ten times the fap by cancelling a nuclear power.
At that point, the Russians realized that they were the equivalent of a porn magazine for the neocons and the globalist scum, and decided to check out of Hotel Pornifornia.
And they ain't never coming back.
The crap people say when you do not agree with them, the goverment/media/military industrial complex, or the globalists.
Oh, eff off.
Morlocks don't need to brag to each other. I was smacking down some pissant who was making fun of one of my posts.
Back around 1983/1984 I attended a conference at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco. During the cocktail hour I chanced into a quite frankly charming fellow and we talked at length about the USSR. I noted my interest in not just Faberge eggs (a tad cliché) but the general folk art of the Pascha Eggs.
After we shook hands and parted ways I was informed by someone else that the charming fellow was Vladimir Pozner who at the time was something of a representative for the USSR in the USA.
That led to an extensive contact report and debrief for me.
Some time later he sent me a package with twelve beautifully detailed Pascha egg Christmas ornaments (they’re made of wood) and a few copies of ‘Soviet Life’ magazine.
It was a very thoughtful gift and also a tad unnerving as I had never given him my full name or home address. Still, I appreciate what I am sure was a very thoughtful gift on his part.
That is profoundly silly.
The Swedish, Finnish, Polish, etc. governments - and peoples - are not Trudeau, and Russia is not Canadian truckers. Even the Canadian people are not Trudeau. When a nation talks it talks to the world. And that world is diverse - so diverse its hard to grasp the scale of the concept unless you have been there.
Assuming the world is one thing and your opponents and conflicts are limited to one “side” is just crazy.
Putin will threaten nuclear war. Then his generals will quietly tell him that their nukes need a little maintenance. Well, a lot of maintenance.
Very interesting!
I went to a few lectures at the Commonwealth Club back in the 1990’s-2000’s and I certainly never had such a fascinating adventure!
The Soviets were indeed very good at this sort of thing. Very clever of them.
Well, to fully make the point - I rank you, as a Morlock.
Define “asked”. You obviously know little of international economics or relations. Financial incentives play the largest role.
I guess you would claim the Mexicans who participate with the drug cartels “asked” for that participation even though the cartels gave them a “plata o plomo” incentive.
