Mobil HQ used to be in Fairfax, VA. They left about 10 years ago.

The Pentagon is located in Arlington VA. Do you have any idea how many billions of dollars Boeing gets in DoD contacts each year? Not just equipment...billions in services contacts alone.

Further to the point, Lockheed’s headquarters is in Bethesda MD and Northrup’s HQ is in Falls Church.

Their HQ used to be in Seattle as I recall ( when Seattle was still a fabulous, relatively safe city ). Why did they move to Chicago in the first place?

Texas would have made so much more sense. It just shows that they want to be in a location to suck up to government more than an aviation center with great industry talent.

They only have to walk a short distance to lobby our political leaders for more fat contracts.

I recall the chatter back when they were doing a search to relocate from Seattle area and DFW was a prime contender. But, the gossip at the time was Chicago was chosen because the Boeing CEO was big into sailing and Chicago had Lake Michigan where he could sail. Don’t know if true or not. But, that was the chatter at the time.

Boeing doesn't give a chit about crime rates in Chicago.
They are simply moving closer to the money.
