A massive Russian warship was reportedly struck by Ukrainian missiles earlier today in what has been described as "another failure of the Russian fleet". The Admiral Makarov was believed to be ablaze after the strike in the Black Sea.
Reports suggest it was close to Snake Island and a rescue operation was deployed involving aircraft and boats. Writing on Telegram, Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko said the ship had been hit by his country's neptune missiles, reports the Mirror.
He said: "There is new information about another failure of the Russian fleet near our shores. Unofficial Russian sources report that the newest missile frigate Admiral Makarov is in trouble.

That’s part of the reason for incompetence in all ranks. Talent is dangerous and blind loyalty is what gets someone promoted.
If we brag again about how our “real time intelligence” helped sink this ship some of our aircraft carries just might get in the way of some hypersonic missiles. I believe Putin issued a warning about this. So don’t be too upset if it happens.
Russia is a tremendously corrupt country. That corruption openly extends into the military and the rank and file know it. Low morale is common and that translates into less vigilance and overall care for the equipment and mission. Many Russian soldiers and sailors just want to do their time (service contract) as easy as possible and get back to their civilian lives. It also does not help that their lower ranking officers are largely inept and do not foster any esprit de corps or confidence within their men.
I think the correct hull number is 799
Don’t worry.

(Dear God, we’re doomed!)
Certainly removes any doubt about the report...

Doubt? Just a silhouette of a ship burning inside a thick white haze that obscures all detail removes any doubt?

Corruption in the Rodina is a way of life going back maybe 500 or more years. Its a cultural perk.
It does not help that their ranking officers purchased their rank either.
Ukraine ping
[Putin must have suppressed any competitors more effectively than a newly hatched queen bee. It’s a little amazing that this much incompetence and stupidity have not led to his overthrow yet.]
That’s the sticking point - you might be able to kill the king, but his other courtiers might simply end up painting you and your conspirators as Judas incarnate and sticking the lot of you in a mass grave. That is pretty much why von Runstedt demurred, while not informing on the coup plotters, when asked to join various assassination attempts/coups against Hitler, at a time when Germany was losing battle after battle.

The Ukrainians have flown multiple drone sorties over that area in the past two weeks. They had already sunk two small patrol boats and destroyed the anti-aircraft defense systems Russia put on Snake Island.
They don't need our real time intelligence when they have their own drones flying over the area and sending back real time video with GPS coordinates.
Ukraine also has access to very high quality satellite images of their entire nation and the areas around it that are not from the US government.
They have plenty of intelligence resources to find a ship operating near their coast.
“Well, that ship certainly isn’t “massive” at 4000 tons.”
I recall the biggest ship the Ukies have is something like 3,000 tons. By that standard the Russian ship would be massive by comparison.
The ship was about 40km offshore. That’s well inside onshore radar and it was very likely observable by people onshore as well. That’s just too close. Artillery could have hit it at that range.
40km = 24.8 miles. That ship was just begging to
used for target practice.
Had. The Ukes had just the one proper ship. It was sunk on day 1.
Well then, there you go.
And Russia had a few proper ships. Four of them have been sunk now.
Advise to Biden.
1. Address the American People about the preparations for a coming war with Russia.
2. Order a draft for all 18 year old American and Illegal Aliens men and women. At least register them!
3. Ask for billions to build training camps for the two million person Army to invade Russia.
4. Build new bomb shelters and training for Nuke first aid.
5. Start the ration of food—every American to have 2,500 calories per day.
6. All automobile production stopped to make tanks, trucks, hummers, jeeps, etc...
7. Any who do not follow Government proscribed talk will be fired and will not receive government food.
8. All elections cancelled until victory is won.
9. All Privately owned gold and silver must be surrendered to the Government—failure would mean arrest without trial for ten years in Alaskan and Nevada labor camps.
10. Biden to be made President for life, by act of Congress.

Aluminum has proven pretty irrelevant in ship losses since 1980. Even the embarrassing losses the Brits suffered in the Falklands were not caused by or made worse by aluminum.
I am so proud of the United States, tempting WW3 to protect the Nazi regime of Ukraine./s
Flame away.... Of course, the US is a Fascist country now. Definition of fascism is strictly government and corporations hand in hand.
We may as well help China attack Russia too. Wouldn’t that be cool? /s
