russia knows they are being used to distract from domestic issues brewing in the US. they know the US is going to keep pushing until they are in an impossible position.

they know we want them to retaliate. we would just use that to justify substantial further escalation. the issue is that Russia does not want a nuclear exchange.
so if they ever decide to actually act, what do they do? do they go it alone? is china involved?
