Republican Senate candidate Kathy Barnette called out Dr. Mehmet Oz during a tense exchange about abortion, revealing she was the byproduct of rape.

On Wednesday, candidates for Pennsylvania GOP Senate primary gathered for a debate as they attempt to sway voters before the May 17 primary election.

Candidates were asked about their stance on abortion days after Justice Samuel Alito's draft opinion to overturn Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion nationwide, was leaked. It was then that candidate Kathy Barnette, a conservative political commentator, explained her personal connection to the pro-life movement, revealing she was the byproduct of a rape. 'I am so very grateful that our nation is having a very important conversation about life,' she said. 'I am the byproduct of a rape. My mother was 11-years-old when I was conceived, my father was twenty-one.'

As a pro life poster on here for almost 24 years now, I seriously have to question anyone here on FR who’d put winning a primary race or the midterms for that matter, over protecting and defending the most innocent and vulnerable among us.

Just read a bit of her bio. Grew up on a pig farm with no running water. First in her family to graduate from college. Served in the Army reserves. Very impressive.

I think Oz will join the McConnell/Romney group as soon as he is elected / if he is elected. As if we need more fake republicans in the Senate.

Barnette is awesome but she lacks the Statewide recognition and funding that Oz has.

Not that I trust Oz. That’s a different subject.
