Given the various failures of the Russian military in their invasion of Ukraine, US intelligence has helped get rid of obviously incompetent Russian generals.
You have it ass backwards. Scummy Pooty invaded Ukraine to steal Ukrainian oil that is just offshore in the shallow waters of the Black Sea. Ukies and Western oil companies were doing exploration until Pooty invaded Crimea in 2014. Just about all Russian oil and gas is in very frigid regions, so it costs more to drill and transport out of them. Black Sea oil/gas is an easy score, due to it being in warm waters.
Donbass invasion is to steal Ukrainian coal there and the steel making works that have just been bombed to shit by Russians, By artillery too.
