(Reuters) - Levi Strauss & Co said on Wednesday it will reimburse travel expenses for its full- and part-time employees who need to travel to another state for health care services, including abortions.
The apparel company best known for its jeans is the latest U.S. company to offer the benefit as various states clamp down on access to abortions.
And now, the U.S. Supreme Court looks set to vote to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide, according to a leaked initial draft majority opinion published by Politico on Monday.
"Given what is at stake, business leaders need to make their voices heard and act to protect the health and well-being of our employees. That means protecting reproductive rights," the company said in a statement.
Citigroup Inc became in March the first major U.S. bank to make a similar commitment.

Their jeans haver been useless for decades...
Used to be a quality product, well built and long lasting... now just overpriced hucksterism... cheap quality, ridiculous pricing.
Last pair of Levi’s I bought didn’t even last a year.. in fact I bought a pair of Wrangler’s at walmart for < $20 that lasted longer than the $70 Levi’s.
At one point yes, Levis were great quality jeans, now, nope, cheap overpriced crap just banking on their name from when they were something of not... Much like Gibson guitars (though Gibson does still make a decent product, just grossly overprices them)... Levi’s are just low quality and overpriced.
I quit buying Levis in the early 80’s-hubby was the engineer on a job his employer had in Mexico, and staying there for a couple months-the cub and I went to stay for a week there-a town not too far from Monterrey-there was a Levi factory there-a real sweatshop- with an outlet store-we bought jeans and denim shorts for hubby, me and the cub for about 1/4 what they cost in the US-no more Levis for me after that...
Reason 45 i don’t buy levi jeans-

Check out Prison Blues made by inmates at Oregon Prison Industries. They are made on the original Levi’s pattern - denim work pants. They are hard to wear out.
Dear businesses
How about providing free contraceptives to prevent needing a abortion. Thinking it would save money and lost work time on your bottom line. Planned parenthood would be glad to take care of supplies, they’ll need the business. Think out of the box.
Levi-Strauss is headquartered in San Francisco.
I don’t imagine they’re going to need to send many people to another state for their abortions. I think Texas only has retail outlets.
I was in the company break room when that TV screen was on and several of the female employees were scoffing at her claim.
A black guy on our production line remarked "Well, maybe she has to pay that much to get laid." The whole room erupted in laughter.
We stopped buying Levi jeans years ago...

I like Levi jeans. . They are part of America’s history, with the California gold rush and all. I know they are now controlled by pencil-neck turd blossoms, but oh well.
I’m so happy that I moved on from Levi’s what... 20 years ago? Such a small deal that I honestly don’t recall.
Oh yeah, “Dockers”. I used to have some Dockers along with Levi’s overrated blue jeans. All very ordinary to me. So what is there to even miss?
A perk for playing around with the bosses.
