I get where you are coming from as well, certainly a reasonable position held by many. But right now, with our current leadership, we had better stay out for as long as possible.

I am good with the threshold for American troops being similar to WWII. Russia decides to attack us, or declare war on us, then it is on. But if europeans want to redraw their borders, like they have for all of history, I say we leave them to it.

Historically, no one has been able to keep the borders in Europe constant, and to think it is even possible is probably folly. That is what I was trying to get at with my original post.

It seems to me that if one nation doesn’t satiate another
nation’s quest for additional land, it’s probably not
going to stop at two.

Are the borders going to change over time? Sure, but to
just allow a nation to bulldoze over a number of others,
I don’t think that’s reasoned.

Sure, don’t jump in the Ukraine. Maybe not Moldova, but
Russia is pushing it’s luck, and if it goes beyond
Moldova for darn sure we need to put a stop to it with
our allies.

Yes, I saw the article about that this morning.

I believe in was included with the history of Russia using the NAZI claim
against various adversaries over the last 70 years or so.

It’s comments about Israel lead me to believe it might consider Israel a target also. That really fits end times prophecy.

Putin is the best argument for eastern European countries joining NATO. NATO is the best argument for eastern European countries saying f@#$ it and forming their own regional alliance, and letting NATO play patty-cakes by itself while Russia fumes and calls everyone a Nazi.

Armenians in the Nagorno-Karabach region, I suppose, are also Nazis, which is the reason why Putin told them to get out and leave their 1,000-year-old Nazi churches behind. It has nothing whatever to do with the natural gas pipeline that will go through there. Where there’s oil, there are Nazis to be dispossessed.
