Americans are sick of wanton murder. Roe was a decision made a time of wanton apathy about the long term impacts when we were still mired in Viet Nam. The FED should never had had the power to allow choice-murder, period. That power should have been left with the lowest level of government it really ended up affecting.

Even Roe was watered down in subsequent decisions, and abortion on demand pretty much up to birth became a fundamental ‘right’. Remember the three trimester structure of the original Roe decision? First three months, the state could not regulate or interfere, second trimester there could be some limitations, last three months a state could prohibit abortion. At least that’s my understanding of the ruling. We’ve seen how those distinctions have vanished. Partial-birth abortion is now permissible, and out here on the Left Coast, legislation is being crafted that would allow infanticide.
