Chris Christie doubts the leaked tapes of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy telling GOP colleagues he'd urge former President Donald Trump to resign after the Capitol riot will sway voters.
The former New Jersey governor got into an argument with ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl on Sunday about the particulars of the audio, revealed by a pair of New York Times reporters, and what it means for McCarthy and the GOP outside the nation's capital.

He’s right. FreeRepublic is an echo chamber. I’ll bet 90% of the electorate (and 75% of Republicans) have no idea who Kevin McCarthy is.

It’s not that I don’t care, it’s that I already knew he was a snake… so not exactly a revelation.
And of those who do know who he is, exactly none will change any of their opinions based on those tapes.
No one cares, no one is going to change their minds. Exactly the same circle-jerk for the left that revelations about Hunter Biden’s laptop are for the right- confirmation of what one already believes and of no practical effect in the real world.

The 1/6 stuff has fallen flat. That’s why you’re seeing Never Trumpers like Kinzinger hitting the Ukraine issue hard. The Dems and RINOs are praying that Ukraine can give them a lifeline as they head towards midterm oblivion.
That’s why Pelosi just went to Ukraine.
Ukraine is meant to distract (don’t think about inflation, border, culture war issues, crime, etc) and make Biden look like he’s “standing up to” Putin. It’s a joke. But plenty of people are falling for it, as the Dems hope.
Also, Ukraine is meant to give Biden an excuse on the issues (Putin price hike).
This was supposed to be the 1/6 election. That didn’t work.
I didn’t trust McCarthy, but I didn’t know Scalise is a POS. I care, and anyone against those two, is someone I want to support.
I think that virtually every Republican is well aware of who Ken McCarthy is.
