I don’t know where this resolution will wind up, but it’s actually in an area of concern that congressSHOULD be paying attention to, not just signing blank checks.

I appreciate your intellectual discussion of this but this we’re now involved in a proxy war which, according to Russia is a byproduct of a western induced Ukranian civil war on it’s borders. To turn this into a nuclear showdown is madness.
Kinzinger is a grandstanding/showboater who is certainly being urged on by the Democrats and the Deep State. He’s threatening Russia and lighting a fuse while hiding behind a camera lens.
Ukraine happened because of the idiotic foreign policy of the braindead president who only does what he’s told to do. They’ve ratcheted and escalated this thing into a US-Russia confrontation.
The GOP has been snookered and blinded by Biden’s Wag the Dog. This is to simply distract from what happening within our borders. I watch the war channels daily. It’s despicable what the State, CIA and DOD is doing to drag us into a nuclear confrontation. This legislation is not only dangerous, any sane Republican that supports it should be primaried out. I hope it’s used as a litmus test this fall.
It does no make sense for Russia to use limited nukes in Ukraine without launching a full blown attack on the USA and its allies. Escalation from a one or two blast attack on Ukraine would be rapid and total. Puin may well be capable of it. If the impressions from his screen appearances are right and he is terminally ill he may well relish he thought of going out with a bang.

It is a hypothetical dilemma for us, if Putin chooses to use NBC weapons in Ukraine. No it’s not a direct attack on NATO, but it is an internationally recognized red line, and has been such for a very long time, with historical precedence as to expected response.
So while you are correct I was pointing out process, i agree it’s the opening of a serious discussion about response to an importance and possible ‘what if’

No argument there. It is Putin’s madness. It is only through credible deterrent that we have a chance of him NOT pulling a nuclear trigger. 40 plus years of Cold War taught us that.

Ukraine happened because, Putin, no, US policy, no, breach of earlier accords, no, fall of the USSR, no, go farther back, mother Russia and czars...it never ends. There is an aggressor in my house. I don’t care if he’s there because I pissed off my neighbor.
I disagree with your last paragraph. Biden is not smart enough to wag a dog. It’s weak policy here at home that invites aggression abroad. Putin saw a vacuum, both in Biden (literally) and in a passive response from Europe. He thought he could take advantage of that. Turns out NATO was brought together, not fractured, by the aggression. Would have been better if the west had been more loud spoken beforehand (like under Trump). Putin would have not proceeded with his venture. Too late now though.
