Sweden has failed to integrate the vast numbers of immigrants it has taken in over the past two decades, leading to parallel societies and gang violence, Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said on Thursday, as she launched a series of initiatives to combat organised crime.
Many Swedes were shocked earlier this month after violent riots left more than 100 police injured. The violence erupted after a Swedish-Danish politician burned the Quran at a rally and sought to hold more in several immigrant-dominated neighborhoods.
Andersson blamed criminals and said both Islamism and right-wing extremism had been allowed to fester in Sweden, in unusually frank and self-critical comments.
"Segregation has been allowed to go so far that we have parallel societies in Sweden. We live in the same country but in completely different realities," Andersson told a news conference.
The number of people in Sweden born abroad has doubled in the last two decades to 2 million, or a fifth of the population. Andersson's Social Democrats have been in power for 28 of the last 40 years, including the last eight.
Andersson said she wanted to introduce local youth crime boards where social services and police could collaborate. She also proposed tools to make sure that youths stayed in schools and off the streets without the consent of parents.
"Integration has been too poor at the same time as we have had a large immigration. Society has been too weak, resources for the police and social services have been too weak," she said.
Sweden, which holds a general election later this year, has radically tightened its immigration policies since taking in more people per capita than any other European Union country during the migration crisis in 2015. It now has one of the bloc's most restrictive policies.
Human rights organisation Amnesty International has been critical of Sweden's tightening of policies, claiming it is causing human suffering and making integration even harder for immigrants.

The Swedes are just plain dumb regarding immigration of violent cultures. The Quoran teaches muslims to lie, cheat, steal, rape and even kill the Infidel.

It’s not just the Swedes. It is the entire West. How can so many people be so stupid that they couldn’t/can’t see this coming?

The Swedes still don’t get it. Prime Minister Andersson seems to think that most of the problem is due to the government’s failure to integrate the Islamists. Plus it’s those nasty right-wing groups.
See, it’s the government’s fault. And it’s the fault of the right-wingers. The folks who are actually going around rioting and burning and looting...well, they’re pretty much victims in all this.
Sweden really has two choices going forward. Deportations, that’s not going o happen. So they can ruthlessly force assimilation, or they can weep and whine as their country collapses.
I’m betting they’ll go for the second option.
What did the Swedes think was going to happen. Did they think the Muslims were just playing a game? To the Muslims this is war.
The Left knows their policies are destructive and not popular, their only way forward is to burn the place down with policies like this.

If Human Rights Watch wants Sweden to make integration easier for immigrants, they should force every Swede to become Muslim and adopt third world cultural practices. That would make the immigrants lives a lot easier.

Some people can learn from experience (apparently Magdalena is one of them). Some can't.
Some people don't have to experience something to know it won't work; they can tell that it will lead to disaster without having to try it. Some can't (apparently Magdalena is one of them).

Sweden did not behave very well during WW II - they provided Nazi Germany with the high-grade iron ore needed to make tank and battleship armor. Some people say Sweden had no choice. Cooperate with Hitler, or be invaded. Others say that Sweden was an enabler, and should have shown more courage.
I’m guess that for at least some Swedes, accepting Muslim “refugees” is a form of atonement. Don’t want to be heartless, twice.
What these idiots don’t understand is that they are enabling Nazis, again. For the Islamists are exactly like the Nazis of old: obey them, or die.
