The town of Clarksville, Indiana, is accused of unlawfully revoking a job offer to a qualified law officer after learning that he was HIV positive, according to a press release from the Department of Justice, which filed the lawsuit April 25.
The lawsuit maintains that such HIV discrimination violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which considers HIV a disability. Title I of the ADA prohibits employers from discriminating against qualified individuals on the basis of disability.
When the officer was offered the job in 2015, he had already been volunteering with the town’s police department for over a year as a reserve officer. He had been given a conditional job offer and needed to pass a state-mandated medical exam.

With HIV, I can’t see how he works as a police officer. I truly think people with HIV should’ve been quarantined. But that barn door was left open 20 years ago
I suspect the HIV candidate just wants the healthcare benefits that comes with the job. Won’t live very long, otherwise.

Some people who have HIV don’t have AIDS sicknesses of a weak immune system. Also, some people who show AIDS sicknesses don’t have HIV.

Even the “AIDS” moniker has fallen out of favor - too much “stigma.” Now it’s called “advanced HIV infection.” Nice and sanitized.
But if he was unvaccinated it would be fine.

HIV ages its infected 14 years. This makes them prone to dementia (called HAND: HIV-associated neurological disorder), cancers, kidney disease, et al. HIV-aging happens even if on PrEP. It also causes early death. To read articles about this, look under keyword hivaging.
