Elon Musk took to Twitter, the platform he will soon own, to mock Donald Trump’s social media platform Truth Social. Musk tweeted that Trump’s platform has a “terrible name,” and “should be called Trumpet instead!” Musk’s criticism comes after he pointed out that Truth Social, launched as a Twitter alternative, has passed Twitter on a ranking of “Top Apps” in Apple’s app store.

Advise to Donald J. Trump. Buy a newspaper (they are cheap these days) Change the name to “The Trumpet: The voice of Truth.” then, use it to tell the conservative-populist message to all the nation. Hire some good conservative writers that our out there. Make it Old school—with all the things of a newspaper of the 1960 and 70s. Even a good comic page. Mallard Fillmore and Flash Gordon. Have things that no one else has. Later expand to cable TV if you like. Trumpet Broadcasting? Its an idea to consider.
Excellent! Was that today? Been busy on and off all day, no time for long internet stuff.
Oh. Yesterday. Crap. Sorry. Multi tasking.
Brilliant!
Free speech folks This is not a slam. It is the beginning of a conversation. I am sure the media wants an ugly battle.
The Android development is almost certainly “in progress” and there is just no public indication how far behind it is.
However, Android apps are easier to hack and make modifications to. That could be used to automate replies, scrape content, or spam the platform. So a little more caution is required before sending out an android version.
yesterday was part 1 of the interview with Joe Pags where he said that. Today is part 2.
He’s right. It’s a terrible name. The Trumpet would have been tremendously better.
Thanks. That’s great news. I’m a Beta Tester and we’re expecting a flood of a couple of million people this weekend.
I already can’t keep up with 100,000 to 300,00 at a time.
Yes the name kind of sucks. Can you imagine how much more it would be beating Twitter if it had a better name?
Yes, but he also loves trolling the libs, telling various MSM journalists and celebrities what sad, pathetic losers they are and how they used to be great but now they suck. He won't be able to do that on Truth.
But that name was market tested by Frank Luntz! /sarc
wow, that’s fantastic. it is super exciting to be a part of. It’s also VERY interesting to watch Elon and his tweets. I believe his tweet this morning about Truth Social being #1 at the app store was the reason the stock went up 18% today (currently up 10% overall). He doesn’t really come across like he’s pumped up about twit...lol
He’s putting alot of attn on TS and for that, I’m grateful
Tried a Duckduckgo search for one. There are quite a few downloads available. Not gonna do it. 'Click here'! Nope.
He can do what he wants. And time will tell what he does.
Oddly, folks give him this adulation as if he invented Tesla and electric cars. He did not. Nothing more than a rich and possibly, hypocritical, venture capitalist.
More importantly are the millions that think a socialist like Musk who, while successful and “visionary” or whatever, was not able to do what he did without massive government help and, most importantly, SUBSIDIES for the rich folks that lines up to buy his 6-figure cars when they first came out. Yes he got a loan. Yes he paid it back with interest. But the government subsidies folks got for buying his cars helped him immensely.
Sorry folks, the millionaire from Buckhead, who can afford the novelty Sunday driver, $100k Tesla, doesn’t deserve $5k in tax breaks not more than anyone getting $7500 from
CornPop now.
By the way, I am actually a socialist. Just not the kind that shifts resources from most productive to least productive, pretending to do good, while actually causing harm. True socialism seeks greatest good for all.

Tesla was founded (as Tesla Motors) on July 1, 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning in San Carlos, California
The three went looking for venture capital (VC) funding in January 2004[2] and connected with Elon Musk, who contributed US$6.5 million of the initial (Series A) US$7.5 million[9] round of investment in February 2004 and became chairman of the board of directors.

Great article on just what these sites are, potentially, all about and how they got there and what they’re used for.
Musk has a point. He is baiting Trump.
popcorn time.
Totally agree that Truth Social is a stupid name….but then Twitter ain’t much better.
Sounds more playful that serious criticism.
completely playful. he was actually taking a swing at twit that they now have competition that is #1 at the app store because twit censors.
