Note that in 1991, the Presidents of 3 USSR SSRs: Russia (Yeltsin), Belarus and Ukraine, decided, JOINTLY, to split up the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Ukraine didn’t separate from Russia in 199q, both of them, along with Belarus, decided to end the union of Soviet socialist Republics

“Ukraine didn’t separate from Russia in 1991”

From the information I have Ukraine officially declared itself an independent country on 24 August 1991, when the communist Supreme Soviet (parliament) of Ukraine proclaimed that Ukraine would no longer follow the laws of USSR and only the laws of the Ukrainian SSR, de facto declaring Ukraine’s independence from the Soviet Union.
