This ruling is not necessarily an indication of how the judge will rule on the petitions. It may be that he wants to protect himself from successful appeal.

This guy is in the tank.

Even an ex-president can’t shield his personal papers, and
yet this judge is opening the door to all manner of road
blocks to information directly pertaining to this case.

The nation’s future is on the line here, and it is amazing
to me that this judge seems to think certain people are
above the law, and seems to infer these really aren’t all
that important of issues.

“This ruling is not necessarily an indication of how the judge will rule on the petitions. It may be that he wants to protect himself from successful appeal.”

That was my first thought, as well.

Durham should have realized that he can just figure out some bogus thing to charge the lawyers with, then raid their office and seize all their privileged communications even if they are not covered by the warrant.

That’s how it works now, right? Or is that only if the lawyer is Giuliani?

Durham should have sent a SWAT team to raid all of them and taken everything

Quite true. The defendant benefits from issues that complicate the case. If nothing else, that provides a way to appeal and delay serving a potential prison sentence after conviction while awaiting a pardon from Biden. In the meantime, Biden is well-served by having Hillary and her crew in the cross-hairs of the special counsel, vulnerable and dependent on his favor.

What I don’t understand is why just the single charge? The guy supposedly intentionally led the fbi/doj into a completely fraudulent investigation of an opposition candidate, namely Trump. But only charge him with lying about was was paying the bills. The argument over if they can bring evidence exposing the original fraud only makes sense if they are charging him with conspiracy. Why no conspiracy charge? I’ll tell you why, they are not investigating the conspiracy, it’s because they have no intention of exposing what happened out in the open. You’ll get no satisfaction from durham.
