The last time a hostile power put a base there at the end of a 6000km supply line, it took 18 months and thousands of casualties to cut them off.

Have you looked at what Mr. Obama did to our military capability? We are at a disadvantage right now with an administration that is ceding the initiative to pretty much anyone who wishes us ill.

They had a secure supply line stretching the length of the Solomons, through the Philippines and Taiwan, and up to Japan. China doesn't have that.

My uncle fought with the 1'st Marine Division on Guadual Canal and my cousin was killed with other Marines on Guam during the final banzi charge on the runway by the Japanese after the island was supposed to be secured.

They would both say just nuke the Chinese bastards if they occupy any of the islands in the region and be done with it!

It sure is. We lost a lot of people there. Probably more sailors than Marines even. Some hideous battles were fought there.

Once again the Biden regime is caught sleeping. and unprepared. Too late, they are now desperately sending a couple of their state department idiots to the Solomons, for what reason who knows at this point. The horse out of the wide open barn door.

Not quite. They had to sneak in supplies and reinforcements from Rabaul on fast destroyers. Nicknamed the “Tokyo Express”.

The Shanghai Express will be thousands of kilometers long, not hundreds.

Yes. Later on our submarine fleet made the other thousands of kilometers of Japanese supply lines dangerous. A similar situation to what the Chicoms would face.
