Putin has launched a major salvage operation to the wreck of the downed Black Sea Fleet flagship to secure military secrets including coding devices, unexploded missiles, and possibly even attempt to bring the bodies of dead sailors back home, naval experts have claimed.
An eight-ship salvage flotilla including Kommuna, the world's oldest active warship, and submarine has been sent to the site of the sunken Moskva 80 miles off the coast of Odessa from Sevastopol, the large naval base in Russia-annexed Crimea, according to a report by Forbes.

I believe the Russians are involved in their own blame game with NATO to back up their justification for their nuclear threats. They launched a DASO test of an RS-28 Sarmat ICBM earlier this week. This all fits in. However, where did Ukes get the Neptune AS missiles is the question? If from Poland then NATO blame is justified.
I read it somewhere that Neptune Anti-Ship missiles were copied by the Russians a few years ago, using Ukrainian engineers. So they have their own copy of the AS missile.
Ukraine has lots of Russian made equipment. It is based on the Russian Kh-35 which is similar to Harpoon and is pretty widely available. Remember things come through 3rd party arms deals a lot. The “modifications” sometimes are very minor. I am working on this in my dissertation right now as we speak.
Then allow me to suggest a minor tweak: Go for just below the waterline at the end of the antiship missile trajectory.

Think of it this way we sent missiles to the mujahedeen to shoot down Russkiy gun Helos, so why not do the same for the Ukes. After all Mother Russia sent planes, pilots to North Korea in the 50 to kill Americans, and Mother China sent troops, and guns and a hell of a lot of broom handles masquerading as rifles to North Korea. So as the saying goes your enemy is my enemy or better yet turn around is fair play, they killed ours so we give to the Uikes so they can kill ours and their enemies...
These missiles skim the surface then execute a pop-up maneuver once the target is picked up by the missile sensor system and then dives on the target’s deck with a point detonated warhead or airbursts.
NO ONE can “give Ukraine back its nukes”!
They were given/sold/traded/stolen/sent to America as weapons and parts. Whole. After the soviet union broke up.
We took the plutonium out of the warheads, re-loaded into US nuclear reactor fuel pellets, and are burning now as fuel.
I understand the history, but I believe this will eventually get to a potential nuke issue and it’s clearly causing global economic issues.
The economy isn’t the same as 50 & 70 years ago.
I don’t care about Russian “feelings”, I’m concerned about actual outcomes.
I do admit I’m unclear how this will effect the China v Taiwan issue.

I have it on good authority from our free republic pro Putin guys that the ship never sank.
In fact they can prove that there is no invasion of the Ukraine by Putin
Let’s say there’s some real smart intelligence operator over there in da Ukraine, workin’ with some dudes here in the DIA. They set up a salvage operation, recover weapons grade nuke material from the wreck, put it on a suitcase nuke, and threaten Ras Putin with serious tens of millions of lost-city civilian casualties if he doesn’t drop every last weapon he sent in and tell his soldiers to walk home unarmed. Of course, the intelligence operator would have to make sure his connection to the DIA is unknowable, and no one would ever “really” know if that nuke material was “recovered/salvaged” or merely given to them by the DIA. End of the war. Borders restored. Ras Putin faces his detractors at home with promises, words, and fake smiles.
Well, if your going to have 8 craft as sitting ducks, might as well use the oldest thing you’ve got. I think they said the ship sank 80 miles from shore. I might be remembering wrong, but distance from shore should indicate how deep it now lies, and how hard to reach. I remember they had a hard time with the Karst sinking. Anyone know how deep that was?
Why would anyone imagine that a trio of Pooty Pals would ever come up with any news source both sides could accdpt. Having read quite a few Ukraine stories in the past few weeks, it is very clear whose side these three support. Also half a dozen others. Don’t know if this is natural support or if they are deep Russian plants
