It's been my experience it is usually the other way around, I refused to wear a mask until the day it became mandatory and then stopped the very minute it became optional again. I got tons of dirty looks, "Hrummphing" and the like.
Personally, the libertarian in me could not care less if someone wants to wear a mask in public for the rest of their life. More power to them in fact, just don't try to enforce your choices on me.
It's a one way street with control freaks.

First off I wear a mask indoors in public and I am not a moron. I wear high quality masks out of respect for my wife who has a serious medical condition which would likely result in death or permanent disability if she contracted COVID. Is that ok with you ??
I gave blood a week ago...they REQUIRED a mask...so I wore one under my nose.
Respect their decisions as much as they respected yours whe most people were wearing masks.

Masks DO NOT stop covid, so, yes, you are a moron since you claim the need is a critical medical situation. If she is that frail then she needs something much more than a mask, like isolation.

Whoever stated that ‘masks are MAGA hats for the left’ was SPOT ON...I like being able to identify them when out in public.
