Politics have no place in the classroom. Yet, a wave of Anti-American, woke ideology and linear educational curricula swept across our schools last year, setting the stage for the Iowa legislature to finally make education savings accounts a reality before adjourning this week.
Educational Savings Accounts, or ESAs, are government-authorized savings accounts meant to help parents pay for alternative non-public educational opportunities, like religious or homeschools. ESAs work like regular bank accounts to help fund the costs of alternative education. ESA accounts give Iowa families the financial freedom and flexibility to pay tuition costs, which is crucial as inflation surges and take-home pay for families is shrinking, not to mention the burden of skyrocketing gas prices.
Iowa, like other states, allocates its taxpayer-funded education funds to public schools on a per-pupil basis, which is roughly $5,000. But instead of giving money to parents and students first, big government schools keep these funds for themselves, creating a backward system. What’s more, ultra-political teachers’ unions are spending millions of dollars of union dues to keep politics and radical agendas in the classroom. The teachers’ unions actively work against parents and students, fighting transparency and accountability every chance they get.

Maybe they are too woke to do that.
Lincoln was self educated. Public Schools have become Leftist Indoctrination factories. With the Internet making information more accessible than ever we should go back to the way Lincoln had it. Separation of School and State is an idea whose time has come.
re: Politics have no place in the classroom.
What a **stupid** statement! A religiously, culturally, and politically education is **IMPOSSIBLE**!
Religious, cultural, and political neutrality is impossible in the mind of any sentient human. It is axiomatic.
Therefore: Government schooling violate **every** First Amendment human right: Speech, press, assembly, and free exercise of religion.
Solution: Complete separation of school and state. Vouchers, charters, and tax credits would help in the transition.
Sorry. I choked on the first sentence. I will now read the article.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
If they’re admitting to the average costs being about “5,000 per student per year for the average student,” then quadruple it and you may have a better figure.
Why are there ALWAYS fundraisers for public schools??? Where does the money go?
There should be zero excuses for parents putting their children into these Leftist Religious Centers.
Every single day I appreciate my one room school education experience.
