In his book, The Spirit-Filled Life, Charles Stanley tells a story of when he first came to the First Baptist Church in Atlanta. He said that there was a fiery meeting with church leaders who wanted him to stop preaching the unvarnished Gospel (or resign).

When Charles suggested that they all pray on this matter, one of the strongest and most outspoken lait leaders, a very successful lawyer, said angrily, "Charles, don't bring God into this...this is business."
