The Russians are the stench in the nostrils of the civilized world.
One does not ask soldiers to go door to door, that is if one respects the lives of his/her soldiers. First you level the city with air power or artillery and then you occupy it. Any building you are taking fire from is leveled again. It's not pretty but it is effective.

I have nothing against the Russian people. They have even less say over what their leader does than we do about what ours are doing.
I am sure there are plenty of despicable men on both sides of the conflict but most of their forces are conscripts who have little clue where they are or what they are doing. Their mothers have even less of a clue.
This has been a disgusting conflict and Putin will NEVER recover from the damage he has done to his nation, himself, and the Russian brand. His oligarch friends are in jeopardy as well because the next “populist” in Russia is probably going to seize any assets they have left within the nation “for the people”.
That is the history of Russia. Today’s strong man is tomorrows pariah and his inner circle goes with him.
