The Republican National Committee made a bold decision that the media elites treated like an anti-democratic outrage. The RNC pulled out of the allegedly bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates.
This decision is not an outrage. It's long overdue. The Democrats are allergic to doing any primary debates on Fox News. It's only in the last two cycles, the Trump cycles, that they accepted a Fox News moderator in the fall -- and that was Chris Wallace, who escaped to CNN.
Republicans should be very demanding about what constitutes a fair debate. At this point, the RNC should copy the DNC approach and avoid any primary debates on any of the Republican-hating channels and their Republican-bashing moderators. If individual candidates want to be interviewed and treated like an insensitive buffoon by Anderson Cooper, that's their choice.
In the nine election cycles we've monitored at the Media Research Center, the moderators have been almost entirely fixtures in the so-called mainstream media. In all of these cycles except 2020, Republicans have been subjected to a so-called town hall debate, where the "town" is a Potemkin village of carefully scripted and chosen questioners who routinely tilt to the Left, just like the moderators.
The RNC should reject any stage-managed "town hall" fakery from any of the liberal networks. If Republicans have to take on hecklers, it should be at their own campaign events and not at debates that are supposed to be fair and balanced.

Wallace should have been fired the next day.
Spot on comment.
The Fourth Estate has become a Fifth Column.
Great suggestion. The Left would have a complete and total meltdown over it.
Liberals have been trashing him for smoking Pot with Elon Musk while interviewing him, which is ironic since they want it legalized.

I think you mean hypocritical rather than ironic.
I don’t really care if he smokes pot. I don’t really care that he wouldn’t do this. I don’t really even care that he is a socialist or whatever. I was just saying he would be good at it.
I am not in favor of getting a conservative moderator or a liberal moderator. I am in favor of getting a moderator who will be fair, ask good questions, and moderate the discussion instead of injecting their stupidity into the situation like the current moderators do.
I’ve watched numerous episodes of the Rogan show and he invariably asks good questions and LISTENS to the answers and then asks follow up questions. He tries to understand what is being said in response to his questions, and asks pertinent follow ups. He does talk about his experiences and thoughts on subjects, but that’s his show’s format.
The thing about Trump mentioning the Chinese compromise of the Biden family is VERY important to anyone who would be impacted by a manchurian candidate- which is everyone- yet the media intentionally covered it up. Rogan would have been all over that topic and would have hammered the guest with these questions.
A curveball question to a candidate need not be damaging if the candidate is allowed to make a proper response. That response must include cross examination of the moderator by the candidate.
The candidates should be allowed some amount of time to question the moderators. The moderators should not be able to hide behind ‘I ask the questions, you answer’.
No need for moderators wanting attention, they aren't running for office.
There is an easy way to fix this.
All moderators must have been banned by Twitter and Facebook.
Anyone else is just a shill for the ruling elites.
“No need for moderators wanting attention,”
I doubt that the moderators would want to be cross examined by the candidates.
I’d like to hear about your visit to Epstein’s Island, Chrissy.
This is one of the reasons many of us have viewed establishment Republicans as the Washington Generals of politics. Good to see someone at the RNC has gotten a clue and a backbone.
Great as long as our moderator isn’t a RINO.
Allegedly bipartisan Commission indeed good to see they wised up.
Red Diaper Baby Chrissy would be incompetent, inept, unprofessional and biased even at that level!
