The state would not be punishing them for political speech. Nobody noticed the great perks that were given 50 years ago.

Nobody noticed until Disney voiced a political opinion. Now they're being punished for doing so.

It’s past time for them to be exempt from the laws that govern the whole rest of the country.

Thousands of companies in every state have these types of tax breaks, and like it or not they're all perfectly legal.

They called the attention to themselves and now they are going to have to deal with it.

So freedom of speech provided they don't actually speak.

It is not the responsibility of the state to help Disney be profitable.

And it's not the responsibility of Disney to invest billions of dollars in Florida.

Both parties thought they had a mutually beneficial deal and moved forward.

Also what about the people living all around them who pay taxes on properties to support Disney not paying taxes on property?

They didn't seem to have a problem with it until Disney spoke out.

It is not about taxes or political speech, it is about stopping leftist pedophiles from grooming children for sex with adults. What the Reedy Creek agreement did was allow Disney to rubber stamp all their own property improvements without the requirement to go before a Planning Commission in which John and Jane Q. Public could have a say in the development.

What Governor DeSantis is doing is solely to protect not just the children in Florida, but children worldwide. Example: Disney comes out with a new movie whose sole purpose is to push pedophilia. They produce toys and games to accompany the movie. Under the rules today if they want to build a ride for that movie they just go ahead and do it, no public input. When Reedy gets rescinded then in order to build that ride in their park they would have to go through the PUBLIC PROCESS with PUBLIC INPUT to get building permits. Do you think those permits would go through? More importantly and to the point, do you think the current Disney management would sink hundreds of millions of dollars into a grooming movie, toys, etc if they then could not turn it into a park ride? What Governor DeSantis and his team is doing is genius. I am kind of shocked more Americans could not put two and two together to figure this out.

Nancy Pelosi called Jerry Nadler into her office one day and said, “Jerry, I have a plan to win back the hearts of voters in Middle America in 2021!”
“Great Nancy, but how?” asked Jerry.

“We’ll get some cheap, tacky clothes and shoes, like most Middle Class Americans wear, then stop at the animal shelter and pick up a Labrador retriever.

Then, we’ll go to a nice old roadhouse in Texas and show them how much admiration and respect we have for the hard working middle-class people living there.”

So they did, and found just the place they were looking for in Odessa, Texas. With the dog in tow, they walked inside and stepped up to the bar.

The Bartender took a step back and said, “Hey! Aren’t you Jerry Nadler and Nancy Pelosi?”

“Yes we are!” said Nancy, “And what a lovely town you have here. We were passing through and Jerry suggested we stop and take in some local color.”

They ordered a round of Lone Star beer for the whole bar, and started chatting up a storm with anyone who would listen.

A few minutes later, a grizzled old rancher came in, walked up to the Labrador, lifted up its tail, looked underneath, shrugged his shoulders and walked out.

A few moments later, in came another old rancher. He walked up to the dog, lifted up its tail, looked underneath, scratched his head and left the bar.

For the next hour, another dozen ranchers came in, lifted the dog’s tail, and left shaking their heads. Finally, Nancy asked, “Why did all those old ranchers come in and look under the dog’s tail? Is it some sort of custom?”

“Oh, hell no,” said the bartender. “Somebody’s running around town tellin’ folks there’s a Labrador Retriever in here with two assholes!”

A federal ticket tax on expensive sports tickets is in order to compensate governments for stadium costs.

A billion dollars would pay to fix up a lot of rundown houses in Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

I’m only against the special considerations now because I only found out about them now. If they were full-on opposing grooming as opposed to supporting it, I’d still say the special carve-outs have served their purpose and should end.

I, as a Florida real property taxpayer, have long noticed the sweetheart deal Disney got.

And the expensive government-subsidized stadiums in many cities.

I am very upset about the $1.4 billion Buffalo Bills boondoggle even though I no longer live in New York State.

In the UK, commercial property is taxed on a national basis.

This creates a level playing field nationwide for business.

There’s also the City of Industry in California.

With few residents and lots of commercial property, property tax rates were kept low.

That's fine, and I'm not defending carve-outs in principle.

But, unlike you, DeSantis has known about the tax situation all along and it's only now, when Disney vocally disagrees with him, that he wants to use the government to punish them.

Disney would simply pay the same tax rates as others and have to follow the same rules as others.

If you clamor for equality, you might get it.

DeSantis has had the Covid issue to deal with.

We also have the property insurance problems to deal with.

And the roads are packed. Convoys of vehicles a mile long are common on the road 50 feet from me.

Being treated fairly and equally is not punishment.

It is an expected result of Amendment XIV.

Yeah, too bad they didn't stay politically agnostic like they had for 50 years. Nope. Go woke, go broke.

Being treated fairly and equally is not punishment.

Disney has a deal with Florida. Disney invests billions to the benefit of the FL economy and they receive some tax, and other, considerations in return.

DeSantis seemed to think it was a fair deal until Disney spoke out.

Since Nazi’s were a private organization? Disney World was the Libertarian example of how many of Government services could be run privately and run better. Florida is about to kill the one good thing Disney still has going for it.

And getting a 600 million dollar a year tax break, when Universal or Seaworld does not get the same thing. Orlando is so diversified now, that they have some leverage over Disney. Disney stepped in it for the .001 of their workforce of weirdos and deviants.

Disney vocally disagrees with him, that he wants to use the government to punish them.

So if you owned a business and you gave a discount to a customer who then started to sleep with your wife and call you a Nazi. What you would let them keep having that discount? "Well, Joe I know you stole from me and impregnated my wife but I can't let that interfere with our prior arrangement." Come on, live in the real world, this was preferential treatment, not a punitive punishment to throw off an equitable situation.
