All of the launchers on that side are gone. Mounts and all. Debris everywhere.
Launchers are still there, this is the aft, launchers are near the bow, you can see them in the smoke.
Yeah, that was the vulnerability of that design. The sixteen very large missiles it carried on deck in paired box launchers were an enormously powerful one shot punch, but they were strictly a ‘use it or lose it’ design when the ship came under attack.
Either one of the missiles detonated due to technical issues or a missile/fragments hit one or more of the launchers and set it/them off - the launchers could not be heavily armored.
