How nice. One of the poorest states in the US gives money to illegals and not poor residents.
It's poor for a reason. Not because there's nothing here (plentiful oil and gas resources, decent timber in certain areas, and some unique attractions), it's that the powers that be are all democrat, and democrats are the party of the poor, because that's how they want you.

A friend’s family moved to Albuquerque a couple of years ago. Back then, I’d told her I’d just read that crime was “way-up” in Albuquerque.

The Government has a new motto: “Tax and Waste”.
My first encounter with anyone from Albuquerque was a family that moved to a house a ways up the street from us. Why they came to Maine I’m not sure. This was in the late 1950s. Got to know the son pretty well and he was in my class. The first winter they disappeared. Turns out they left after they’d finished burning the wood furniture in the rental house.
Didn’t actually go to to Albuquerque until many years later (early 2000s) for a conference. Took the Mrs. She had a great time visiting the botanical garden and then we took a couple days to explore the surroundings. Lovely. But the city? Yuck.
The billions appropriated by Congress, under Trump and Biden, were mostly used to fund graft and corruption throughout government and with big state aligned organizations. Big Pharma obviously benefited tremendously by having its vaccine R&D development paid for by the taxpayer, having the taxpayer buy and distribute millions of doses, and receiving full indemnity from any lawsuits.
The county I live in used Covid money to pay a bonus to county employees. Much of the money my state received seems to have been funneled through social justice organizations and consultants aligned with the Democrat party as well as leftist social media platforms and media companies to put out the “get the vax” message. Of course funds also were paid out as Covid hardship bonuses to state workers, and public school teachers, who were being paid their full salaries for sitting at home during the lockdowns. They applauded the payment of free bonus money and no doubt will demand more this year.
If the Republicans were the party of fiscal responsibility they would announce it is time to move on and pull the grifters off the government teat. Instead we hear silence from the party whose only platform this year is “Biden is doing a bad job, vote for us and we’ll do better”.
Why can’t the rest of us sue New Mexico for misappropriation of federal funds?
The teachers union feeds on graft and political corruption and must be destroyed
