Does Putin speak any language besides Russian?

He seems to be rather isolated, with a provincial intellect, and a very 'nouveau riche' understanding of culture.

He speaks fluent German. He was stationed in East Germany during the Cold War as a colonel in the KGB

He can speak English. But in diplomatic settings, he only speaks Russian. He speaks German as well, he was stationed in East Germany during his years as a KGB spy.
