The first sign of trouble was Chechen soldiers bursting through the gate.
Jumping from Jeeps, combat boots hitting pavement hard, they ordered 500 patients and staff from Borodianka’s special care home into the courtyard, at gunpoint.
“We thought we were going to be executed,” Maryna Hanitska, said home director.
The Chechen's pulling out a camera, yelled at her to make everyone smile. Most were crying.
“We command you to say to the camera, ‘Thank you, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin,’’’ the soldiers demanded.
With several guns in her face, she thought of options. She would never thank Russia’s president, she called “a liar” and “killer.”
But didn’t want the soldiers to hurt anyone. She managed saying, “Thank you for not killing us.”
And then fainted.
A white flag on affixed to a civilian car antenna remained on a road leading out of Lypivka, Ukraine Friday
Some village women begged Russian commanders permission to evacuate. But, then Russian armored personnel carriers swiveled their turrets toward them. A shell ripped into the first car. And then another. And then another.
The convoy turned into a fireball.
On March 5, it got worse.
The Chechen left the same day, after making the propaganda video, but other Russians took their place. Not allowing anyone to leave the compound, even to search for food, and ringed the building with artillery, mortars and heavy guns, knowing Ukrainians would be reluctant to hit it.
“We became human shields,” said Taisia Tyschkevych, the home’s accountant.
The Russians took everyone’s phone. Or almost everyone’s.
Ms. Hanitska said she hid hers and texted Ukrainian forces details. “They were hitting the Russians,” she said. “If we hadn’t done this, the fighting would happen in Kyiv.”

Borodianka, UKBorodianka, United Kingdom?
One person hid their phone, and passed intelligence to the Ukrainian forces.
This shows how difficult it is to be an occupying force with modern technology available.
BORODIANKA, Ukraine

One of these days, I am afraid that there will be no more Patrick Lancaster videos coming out of the Mariupol region. His luck is going to run out, and the videos will cease. Please go to his channel and watch the last half dozen or ten videos to get a view of the war unlike anything you will see in the Western MSM.
Russian Soldiers Evacuate Children from Dangerous Areas of Mariupol

“Mariupol Residents Accuse Ukraine Of Firing On Civilians”
{Eyewitness survivors: Azov/UAF troops prevented patients and staff from evacuating hospital, and also positioned tanks near and fired from by the hospital, using the patients as a human shield.]
Very newest from Patrick Lancaster. He’s a Russian-speaking independent American journalist who is crowd funded. He was reporting from the Donbass when the latest chapter of the wars in east Ukraine began, and he just stayed forward, in hearing range of the fighting, anywhere that took him. To my knowledge, he’s the only English-speaking journo reporting from on the ground in Mariupol.

Well, come on Pootie Poot worshippers here on F.R. - defend this.
For every one of these stories, there’s another just like it from Mariupol or the Donbass, but with the Ukrops or Azov Battalion as the villains. There’s propaganda on both sides, but the Ukraine supporters here and the media will never admit it.
“So they were basically spying for Ukraine.”
It’s not ‘spying’ when you’re in your own country. It’s patriotism.
Wow. The very next post answered you. It’s almost like you summoned a demon!
I have been watching Mr. Lancaster’s videos, and am sick to my heart that we, the people of the USA, are being so misled by our government and the government-controlled media.
It reminds me of the support given by the elite leaders, businessmen, and politicians of the day to Hitler and the Nazis. - Among them were the names Kennedy and Bush - perhaps you can help out with more?
Those of you who have not watched Patrick Alexander’s videos, please look up yesterday’s from the fall-out shelter underneath the hospital, and then today’s - the Russian soldiers working to get the trapped Ukranian civilians, elderly women and children, to safety - in or near Mariupol.
Shame on the Ukranian Army, and that horrible President of Ukraine. May they fry in hell.
Very interesting viewpoint.
Thanks for sharing it.
I ask you to watch the videos linked above, and watch the people’s faces, including the children. I did, concerned about crisis actors, propaganda, etc.
This is not that. I SAY AGAIN! These poor people are not acting, but caught in a nightmare of ignorant armies, Nazis, and liars. The Russians appear to be acting honorably, and if they are doing it for propaganda reasons, so be it. At least these poor innocent civilians are getting some help!
“While spying on the Russians, Hanitska also cooked meals on a fire outside...”
I have repeatedly seen and written statements that both side lie all the time.
It is the nature of war.
To claim one side or the other is the only one lying is to be deceived.
for those of you who want to make up your own minds, not be told by others how to think about this, here is the main link to all of Lancaster’s videos, going way back.
He is an Irish war journalist, by the way. The only thing that makes me question his integrity a bit is that he is posting on Twitter.
That alone is a strike against him since Twitter usually only allows “approved” opinions to be posted, or so it seems to me. I could be wrong, of course.
The NYT isn’t much on facts. It’s like the old adage about Izvestia and Pravda although these days the NYT doesn’t have any izvestia or pravda.
After 4 years of “Russiagate” stories and then 2 years of Covid BS crammed down our throats daily, you’d think ppl would have learned not to trust the media without first doing their own research. It’s scary to see freepers forget that lesson. They then refuse to engage in intelligent debate and instead resort to ad hominem attacks. So much for critical thinking.
