Seems a bit on the lw side in terms of quantum f damages. This in fact was a civil rights violation of freedom of ones religious conscience.....and he should have been awarded punative damages.

I truly hope this reality check can be repeated everywhere. I just did a search of my email and the only instances of people in my email archive of people sharing their preferred pronoun idiocy are from last year and all from or associated with one of my kid’s schools and UNR.
I work in nonprofits in Chicagoland and often attend continuing education courses or other meetings where we are instructed to list our pronouns. We are also asked to state our pronouns when we are introduced. I simply state that people can use whatever pronoun they please when they speak to or about me. That shuts them up.
My God, it’s hard to believe it even had to come to this. What a mad, mad country we live in.

It is all about the odds of finding an organ match. The odds go way down with male-to-female and female-to-male matches.
Just as an example: A four out of four match would be identical twins, a three out of four match would be close family member, two out of four distant family, and odds go way down with non-related.
Also take into account that because of testosterone a man’s organs are larger than a woman’s. A woman’s heart transplanted into a man has a hell of a time pumping enough blood and that will damage the heart and cause the transplant to fail sooner rather than later. Can it be done, yes. Should it be done, no, it is doomed to fail and a woman should get that heart.
Talking about LONG TERM SUCCESSFUL matches here. In the past they would not waste an organ on a two or one match. That was considered suboptimal. Now because of the anti rejection meds (basically the AIDS cocktail with additions) they have loosened the guidelines. Hospitals and doctors make big $ on transplants and the lifelong care that comes after a transplant. They will Frankenstein anyone with the money to pay. Their own studies show that a young person’s heart will have much better long term success transplanted into another young person, yet they continue to place a 17 year old heart into a 75 year old with the ability to pay.
Just like Apple and the new pregnant man emoji. These idiots do not realize that it is still a man and without a label it simply looks like a fat man with a gut. Idiots , all of them just idiots.
Good for the professor. The pronoun thing is getting ridiculous.
As a professor of philosophy he should speak the truth and refuse to perpetuate lies.
