Despite "fundamentally" disagreeing with the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol demonstrators over the 2020 presidential election, attorney Alan Dershowitz has taken one on as a client.
Dershowitz will defend Brady Knowlton, 41, who’s facing five counts for entering the Capitol.
"For me, it’s a simple one — I’m defending Brady’s First Amendment right to petition the government," Dershowitz
told Newsmax on Friday from New York. "We’ve seen the video that shows he believed, and reasonably believed, he was welcomed to enter the Capitol as long as he did no damage and left when he was told to leave. He did that."
The legal scholar told Newsmax that "I never pick my cases based on agreement or disagreement with my clients."

It’s pretty hard to avoid, when you’ve been in jail for a year and the government has promised to keep in jail for the next 5 years if you don’t take a quick plea now.

He actually believes in free speech. He worked with the ACLU in the 1970s on the case that allowed the Neo Nazis to march in Skokie, Illinois.
He also worked for President Trump in the ridiculous 2nd shampeachment defense.
He will also defend one of the Jan 6, political prisoners.
He actually believes people are entitled to a legal defense - yes even if they are unpopular with Leftists.....and he’s got the guts to take on such cases himself no matter how much hate he gets for it from the Leftist screech mob. So while there are plenty of things I disagree with Dershowitz about, I have a lot of respect for him.
*IF* it were old school Liberals like Dershowitz on the other side instead of fascist Leftists, the country would be MUCH better off.

Rat Party Headquarters needs an issue...particularly now that they see that The Big Guy is an absolute train wreck in every conceivable way. And they've shown over the years...starting even before "Romney doesn't pay taxes" (which Dirty Harry Reid eventually *admitted* was a lie)...that there's no lie they won't tell,no conspiracy they won't concoct.
I believe the defendants have been so threatened by authorities, they have no faith that the Court will protect them. Have not orders from the Judges been ignored? Try telling the Court the plea was entered because of threats, and then get sent back to a cell where even telling about the violence begets more violence.
Far left Rats heads must be exploding. Dersh will give a lot of exposure to this Jan 6 farce.

(Source Federalist) The inspector general for the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) has opened a formal investigation into whether the law enforcement agency tasked with securing the Capitol has been inappropriately surveilling elected members of Congress, their staff, and visitors to their offices, The Federalist has learned.
The opening of the investigation follows news reports and accusations from lawmakers that USCP has overstepped its bounds as it tries to recover from the January 6 riots that tarnished both the Capitol and the reputation of the law enforcement agency that was supposed to keep it safe.
In related - Pelosi’s Capitol Police are alleged to have illegally entered the office of Congressman Troy Nehls (R-TX), photographing confidential legislative products and grilling staff, according to reports. The police – now under formal investigation – stand accused of dressing up as construction workers and attempting another entry just two days later. Reports suggest Capitol Police have built intelligence dossiers on those illegally investigated.
OBSERVATION - Pelosi has converted the Capitol police into her how personal stazi. The incidents are egregious. Should the democrats lose the house in November, the incoming republicans should clean house an have heads roll (figuratively). This is another step taking govt agencies and targeting protected activity of citizens and their representatives.
In related, Representative Louie Gohmert has accused the DoJ of intercepting mail from his constituents and illegally holding it. In one case, mail was withheld from the Congressman for over four months. “It is gravely concerning that since Congressional mail is constitutionally protected under the Speech and Debate Clause of the Constitution, it could be routed, intentionally or not, through the highly partisan DOJ. This is felonious behavior.”
OVERALL OBSERVATIONS - These Capitol police and DOJ actions point to a more aggressive move by the biden/leftist govt against US citizens. If a CW2 scenario goes hot, the likelihood of active involvement by govt agencies skyrocket. It ceases to be a more culture conflict between Red and Blue, but Fed Govt vs Red citizens/states.
On the Jan. 6 “Democrats Wallow in Victimhood Day,” Kamala know-nothing stupidly equated J6 w/ 911 and Pearl Harbor.
Kamala Harris and the Dem hit squads have spent the last 30 years attacking the United States as racist, oppressive, homophobic, xenophobic, etc.......decrying it’s formation by “evil religious white men to oppress anyone who was unwhite.”
But on Jan 6, she, and the Party of Never Miss a Political Opportunity, suddenly “saw the light.”
